JORGE REYNOLDS POMBO

Jorge Reynolds Pombo is a Colombian engineer born in Bogota. Famous to be the inventor of the first External Artificial Cardiac simulator with internal Electrodes in 1958.

Jorge Reynolds’s work in internationally known. He obtained so many honorary doctorates in medicine for his contributions to technologies’ development in Cardiology. Moreover, over 70 productions like documentaries, short movies were diffused by well-known science channels like National Geographic and Discovery Channel…

 

He published around 174 research articles. A member of 42 scientific companies in Colombia and outside. He is also a member of New York Academy of Sciences since 1989, a member of the Colombian Academy of Hard,physics and natural Sciences and a partner member of the National Academy of Medicine since 2004.

 

Jorge Reynolds recalls how in 1984, Utadeo began to have dreams about technology that was based on unfamiliar concepts of that time: He took the whales’ heart as a subject of studies and tried to duplicate its functioning to the human heart. ‘’After 10 years now, we developed an entire project which had an international impact and was the precursor of the new cardiac stimulator. Nano-tagging machine is a result of the experiments we did with the whales. We understood after that our work wasn’t just about Biology, it was a technology that helped us create machines‘’Said the Scientific in an Utadeo interview in 2015.

ANNE REVAH-LEVY

Professor of child psychiatry at the University of Paris

Child psychiatry Professor at University of Paris and Head of Department at the Argenteuil Hospital. She founded and manages a qualitative health research group in the INSERM U1153 unit, Statistic and Epidemiological Research Center Sorbonne Paris Cité (CRESS), ECSTRRA team. She is the author of a specific qualitative research method for clinical health research: IPSE (Inductive Process for Structure of living)

In September 2019 Pr Anne Révah-Lévy organized the first edition of the Qualitative Research Summer School.

Doctor in preventive and social Healthcare

LAURENCE VERNEUIL

Professor of dermato-venereology and Head of Department at the CHU in Caen, Researcher

Dermatology Department, Oncology and Organ Medicine Department, Caen University Hospital - Clémenceau Hospital. She is a researcher at Saint-Louis Hospital. At the same time, she had a big interest in Healthcare complementary approaches and the patient’s holistic approach.

The evaluation of treatments and medical processes is systematically approved by Evidence Based Medicine with its randomly controlled trials seen as a powerful model.

The patient's experience in healthcare is essential. That is how that qualitative research can be done. It relies on defining a complete methodology which structures all the research process and learn from the patient's experience and feedbacks as he is the center of the medical treatment.
